Electoral Compass

I don't get to vote, but it's still interesting to see where the presidential candidates stand on the issues, and whose views are closest to yours. I analyzed mine and found that my views are closest to Barack Obama and farthest from Fred Thompson.

Wind, Rain and Snow
4:35 AM, SATURDAY, JANUARY 05, 2008

It's almost dawn on Saturday and I'm just going to bed. This week has been very productive at work. With most of my team gone on vacation, I had a pretty quiet environment with zero distractions.

According to the forecast, this weekend is going to be nasty with lots of wind and rain. And I can already hear the wind blowing hard outside. Let's hope it doesn't turn into anything like last year's.

Zune Rocks, Sprint Sucks
2:30 AM, THURSDAY, JANUARY 03, 2008

The best toy that I landed this Christmas, by far, is the Zune. I've never had a hard-disk based portable music player before. Now that I have it, I'm finding myself carrying it everywhere I go. I took it to the coffee shop pretty much every day of last week and listened away as I got work done. The premium earphones that comes with the Zune are awesome - they sit very comfortably and sound really nice.

At home, I set it up on the Altec Lansing Zune dock and listen to music. The cool thing is that while sitting on the dock, the Zune automatically syncs the music from my home computer through the wireless network. I never have to connect my Zune to my computer. It just works!

That said, the worst toy of the season was the Sprint phone. The phone itself was alright, but Customer Service for Sprint? It's almost non-existent. I get the phone for evaluation and a week later, I request to be registered with Sprint and request a number transfer from my old service provider. 8 days, 3 phone messages and 2 emails later, I walked up to their office in Bellevue, WA and returned the phone and cancelled the service.

If this is how I get treated for wanting to become their customer, imagine my plight if I ever have to go to them for fixing a problem. Compared to Sprint, my present provider, T-Mobile is a hundred times better. I'm going to stick with them for a while!
